What should you tell us about your roof in Woking?
Whether you live in Old Woking, Horsell or elsewhere in Woking, show us each roof section you want cleaned. Tell us about later alterations and any property-specific requirements you know about so we can explain the cleaning method proposed for your home.
Before
A rounded ridge above brown pantiles. What happens to swept valleys when a Woking clay tile roof is cleaned?
Swept valleys on a Woking clay tile roof are scraped by hand with the rest of the tiles, and the valleys, hips and ridge tiles are checked on every roof. The Mount Hermon estates have steep plain clay tile roofs of at least 45 degrees with bonnet hips, swept valleys and decorative ridge tiles. Older roofs in Old Woking mix plain clay tiles with slate, and natural slate can also take roof pressure washing, the hot, low-pressure steam method.
If your roof has swept valleys or decorative ridge tiles, photograph them alongside the main slope when you ask for a quote.

Do Woking's pines and heathland woods encourage moss on roofs?
They can, because moss tends to flourish on roofs near trees, where conditions stay shady and damp, and dead leaves that fall onto the tiles lodge there. On Horsell Common, just north of Woking, Scots pine, silver birch and oak have grown into woodland in many places across the heath. In the Pond Road area of Hook Heath, Scots pines line the roads against a backdrop of woodland trees.
If pines or oaks stand near your house, photograph the slope that faces them and its gutter, and send the pictures with your quote request.
Which cleaning method suits your roof?
Your roof can be cleaned by Moss Men Surrey using manual moss removal or roof pressure washing (hot, low-pressure steam). The team checks your roof covering, its condition and access before recommending either method.
| Service | Which roofs it suits | Price |
|---|---|---|
| Manual moss removal | Manual moss removal suits concrete tiles, clay tiles and natural slate. The covering and its condition decide whether scraping is right for your roof; product-specific manufacturer advice can rule it out. | From £599. |
| Roof pressure washing | Roof pressure washing suits natural slate and modern clay tiles, once the team has checked the covering, its condition, access and the manufacturer's guidance. | Starts at around £750, depending on the roof; written quote within 24 hours. |

David and his team did a fantastic job on my moss and algae covered roof. It is now spotless and has rejuvenated the look of the place. The team worked incredibly hard for 3 days in the hot weather, and really went the extra mile when cleaning up to leave the property sparkling. Very happy indeed with the service.
