Roof cleaning in Witley
Moss Men Surrey offers roof cleaning in Witley, with a written quote within 24 hours and a method suited to your roof.
Dave has cleaned roofs since 2004 and will take on a tall, steep clay tile roof in Witley alongside his two sons.
What should you tell us about your roof in Witley?
Whether your home is around Petworth Road, Church Lane or Enton Mill in Witley, point out valleys and gutters where debris collects. Show us any pond or planting below the roof too, so we can discuss protection and water handling with you.

Does a tall, steep clay tile roof in Witley need special cleaning?
No special method is needed: a tall, steep clay tile roof in Witley is cleaned by hand like a lower one, reached by ladders, roof ladders or a mobile tower, with a cherry picker only when the job needs one, at extra cost shown in the quote. Clay roof tiles are found throughout the conservation area, and the 19th-century houses on the south-west side of Petworth Road have tall, steep roofs with dormers. Northfields has slate roofs, and natural slate can also take roof pressure washing.

Can trees on Witley's commons keep a nearby roof shady and damp?
Yes, where trees on Witley's commons or around the Enton Mill hamlet stand close to a house, they can keep its roof shady and damp, the conditions where moss tends to flourish. Witley and Milford Commons, around five minutes' walk from the centre, are heathland and woodland, and the Enton Mill hamlet is strongly characterised by its surrounding trees. A notable London plane stands beside Petworth Road.
If a large tree stands beside your house, photograph the slope beneath it and send that with your quote request.
Which cleaning method suits your roof?
Your roof can be cleaned by Moss Men Surrey using manual moss removal or roof pressure washing (hot, low-pressure steam). The team checks your roof covering, its condition and access before recommending either method.
| Service | Which roofs it suits | Price |
|---|---|---|
| Manual moss removal | Manual moss removal suits concrete tiles, clay tiles and natural slate. The covering and its condition decide whether scraping is right for your roof; product-specific manufacturer advice can rule it out. | From £599. |
| Roof pressure washing | Roof pressure washing suits natural slate and modern clay tiles, once the team has checked the covering, its condition, access and the manufacturer's guidance. | Starts at around £750, depending on the roof; written quote within 24 hours. |
What does manual moss removal include?
In Witley you can have manual moss removal from £599, with gutter clearing first and Pureseal Bac Clear Pro next, before a three-year moss-free guarantee starts.
The biocide is the treatment we apply after removing moss.
Ridge tiles, hip tiles, valleys, verges and gutters are checked on every roof. Ridges are the top joins, hips are the sloping joins, and verges are the roof edges.
If our team damages your roof while cleaning, the repairs are included. Existing defects are considered separately when the team looks at your roof.
Artificial slate can look worse after cleaning. We discuss that risk with you before any work.
We never cold call; we check for nesting birds and bats first and stop if we find them; we check cement slates for asbestos before any work.

The team were courteous, responsive and thorough. In addition to the roof treatment, Dave explained what he could do for the dirty stonework and I am very pleased with the results.

Excellent. Came very quickly to quote and didn’t have to wait long for the job to be scheduled. On the day they did a great job of clearing the roof of years of moss. Obv this creates loads of mess all around and they very efficiently cleared it all up including where it had blown onto the neighbour’s. I’d use again and highly recommend.
