What should you tell us about your roof in Warlingham?
If your Warlingham home has had roof repairs over the years, show us the covering and those repaired sections. We will discuss their condition with you before recommending a cleaning method.
Before
Moss scattered across grey concrete tiles.
Can every roof covering in Warlingham be cleaned the same way?
No, the method depends on the covering, and Warlingham has three main ones. Roofing there is predominantly red or brown plain clay tiles, which are cleaned by hand. There are many examples of blue or black slate: natural slate can take the manual scrape or roof pressure washing, while artificial slate can look worse after cleaning, and you are told so before work starts. Some more recent roofs use interlocking pantiles, which are scraped by hand too.
Tell us your covering, or send a close photograph of it, when you ask for a quote.

|---|---|
| Detached | 33.8% |

Is a Warlingham roof under mature trees more likely to grow moss?
Yes, a Warlingham roof under mature trees is more likely to grow moss, because moss tends to flourish where trees are nearby and conditions are shady and damp. The south-west of the parish is suburban housing with many large gardens and numerous mature trees, School Common is surrounded by mature trees of mixed species, and mature limes stand on The Green.
If a mature tree grows near your house, show us the slope it shades in the photographs you send for a quote.
Which cleaning method suits your roof?
Your roof can be cleaned by Moss Men Surrey using manual moss removal or roof pressure washing (hot, low-pressure steam). The team checks your roof covering, its condition and access before recommending either method.
| Service | Which roofs it suits | Price |
|---|---|---|
| Manual moss removal | Manual moss removal suits concrete tiles, clay tiles and natural slate. The covering and its condition decide whether scraping is right for your roof; product-specific manufacturer advice can rule it out. | From £599. |
| Roof pressure washing | Roof pressure washing suits natural slate and modern clay tiles, once the team has checked the covering, its condition, access and the manufacturer's guidance. | Starts at around £750, depending on the roof; written quote within 24 hours. |
What does manual moss removal include?
In Warlingham, a three-year moss-free guarantee follows manual moss removal, which is from £599 and covers the gutters and Pureseal Bac Clear Pro.
The biocide is the treatment we apply after removing moss.
Ridge tiles, hip tiles, valleys, verges and gutters are checked on every roof. Ridges are the top joins, hips are the sloping joins, and verges are the roof edges.
If our team damages your roof while cleaning, the repairs are included. Existing defects are considered separately when the team looks at your roof.
Artificial slate can look worse after cleaning. We discuss that risk with you before any work.
We never cold call; we check for nesting birds and bats first and stop if we find them; we check cement slates for asbestos before any work.

Great work completely got rid of all moss and treated to keep away. Dave & the boys were bang on time and barely knew they were there while clearing the roof. Highly recommended

Dave and his team did a really good job cleaning our roof. Dave came out first to have a look and provide a quote, and the work was booked in for a week or two later. They steam cleaned the roof and then applied a treatment, as well as cleaning all the gutters and treating the patio. They also tidied everything up properly before they left. The roof looks fantastic and almost like new. Really happy with the work and would happily recommend Dave and his team.

Dave and his team did a fantastic job removing the moss from our entire roof. They arrived on time, worked incredibly hard throughout the day, and I was very impressed with their work ethic. They took extra care working around our solar panels, which we really appreciated, and completed the job to a very high standard. They also tidied up thoroughly and left our driveway exactly as they found it. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Dave and his team. Thank you again!
