Roof cleaning in Reigate
Moss Men Surrey offers roof cleaning in Reigate, with a written quote within 24 hours and a method suited to your roof.
In Reigate, Dave and his sons would clean a handmade clay tile roof by hand, and Dave has been cleaning roofs since 2004.
What should you tell us about your roof in Reigate?
If your home is near Reigate Heath or other greenery, tell us what you have noticed beneath the roof. Is moss reaching the gutters, or is the roof's appearance your main concern? Send ground-level photographs so we can see the growth and discuss what cleaning could achieve for you.

Which Reigate roofs need a closer look before cleaning?
Horsham stone slabs need a closer look before any method is offered in Reigate, and in 1911 they still covered most of St Mary's parish church roof. Handmade plain clay tiles, which the town's conservation plan wants to see brought back in place of concrete ones, are cleaned by hand, as are machine-made and concrete tiles. Natural slate, also found in the town, can be cleaned by hand or with roof pressure washing.
Tell us if your tiles are handmade or machine-made, or if the roof is slate, when you request a quote.

| Detached | 26.5% |

What makes a Reigate roof under cedars or yews prone to moss?
Shade and slow drying do it: cedars and yews over a Reigate roof keep the tiles shaded and slow to dry, which lets moss settle, and leaves lodging on the surface add the dirt it roots in. Cedars of Lebanon and Wellingtonias are a prominent feature around the town, the Priory has yew, lime, oak and horse chestnut, and beech grows in Tunnel Road.
If a cedar or beech overhangs your roof, send a picture of that slope and its gutter line with your quote request.
Which cleaning method suits your roof?
Your roof can be cleaned by Moss Men Surrey using manual moss removal or roof pressure washing (hot, low-pressure steam). The team checks your roof covering, its condition and access before recommending either method.
| Service | Which roofs it suits | Price |
|---|---|---|
| Manual moss removal | Manual moss removal suits concrete tiles, clay tiles and natural slate. The covering and its condition decide whether scraping is right for your roof; product-specific manufacturer advice can rule it out. | From £599. |
| Roof pressure washing | Roof pressure washing suits natural slate and modern clay tiles, once the team has checked the covering, its condition, access and the manufacturer's guidance. | Starts at around £750, depending on the roof; written quote within 24 hours. |
What does manual moss removal include?
Manual moss removal, from £599, covers gutter clearing and Pureseal Bac Clear Pro and is backed by a three-year moss-free guarantee.
The biocide is the treatment we apply after removing moss.

Artificial slate can look worse after cleaning. We discuss that risk with you before any work.
We never cold call; we check for nesting birds and bats first and stop if we find them; we check cement slates for asbestos before any work.
